Recently i've learned that it's okay to not know something.
In the university i studied STEM and in this field it's considered shameful to not know something.
Professors make fun of people who don't know the basics, other students will make fun of you too. In fact it all started in school (I'm not from the US so it's different here).
As a result i became afraid to not know something. This made me a terrible person to talk to and people tend to stop asking me questions because they feel hurt every time i answer these questions. They feel like i'm trying to make them look dumb, which i'm probably doing subconsciously, because everyone is STEM is like that.
I think that something needs to be done about this because it's a bad thing.
