My 31 year old co-worker had COVID. I worked on his side (office, 1 meter away) and we answered the same phone for 3 full days before he was finally suspended.
I am 19 years old and did not get the virus. In addition, I see very few people in their 20s having symptoms. Is it true that it is more difficult to get viruses under the age of 21?

Age shouldn't influence how likely the virus is to infect you. But younger people are asymptomatic way more often and recover easier and faster

Below age 10 the likelihood of spreading is reduced.
Above it's basically the same through any age demographic if you adjust for social mobility

Likelihood of severe reaction is lower the younger you are though.

My argument was more along the lines that we shut down an entire planet for a virus that 99% of the population survives. The same NGOs and government think tanks complaining about overpopulation for 50 years are the same NGOs and government think tanks keeping you all locked in your homes while the dollar is printed into oblivion, the constitution is eviscerated, small business is destroyed, the economy is wrecked, all the while the stock market skyrockets as the fed buys corporate debt, workers sit at home, and pretty much the working class is fucked.

But yes, anon, keep telling us about Ebola. You're doing a great job. Keep it up!

No, you don't seem to know what asymptomatic means. Possibly 27.1% of people contract ebola and never develop any symptoms, much less shit out their internal organs. That's a pretty high fucking rate. Unless tested, they'll never know they are, or were infected. Not a deadly virus by your definition.

Had you said that originally I wouldn't have commented, but it's clear that many viruses, including highly deadly ones, still cause many asymptomatic cases. Trying to judge the deadliness of a virus based on that criteria is silly, because you'd basically be saying there's no such thing as a lethal virus. Did you know influenza has a 75% asymptomatic rate? That polio has a 95% asymptomatic rate? 40-80% of dengue fever cases are asymptomatic?
