i understand IQ tests are revised periodically to keep the average at 100.
so what is happening here? it appears we are all trending towards the average. have we hit a plateau as a species? or controversially, is this to do with breeding and genetics? - enter entropy.
2nd law says if no energy enters or leaves an isolated system the system will go to a resting state. it can also be applied to this problem, if we are not producing intelligent people (no more energy is entering the system) then our level of intelligence (as a species, on average) will slowly decline.
that is in essence what I meant by "entropic".
