>>11916576I'm not too well versed in this topic but to my knowledge, other than piezophiles that can be found anywhere at low depths, there are a lot of extremophiles that live in and around deep sea hydrothermal vents. I would think the majority are microorganisms, but there are also starfish, crustaceans, fish, molluscs, etc. and other macroscopic organisms that live in these environments. Most of them have a method of converting the otherwise toxic chemicals spewed by the vent into food in one way or another. I would say they are fairly well documented and there is a great deal of information available about them.
