>>11914406>>11914549its a celestron 16". the whole setup is from the early 90s, so ive been very on my own figuring it out. anyone that had this stuff 25 years ago is either dead or upgraded far long ago. the tracking is the top dog for it's day, but its not very smooth rendering it useless, at least for taking photos. on top of that, if i just simply want to look at the moon no matter what eyepiece i put in it's just crap. ive had a 10" DOB for a few years so know my way around things, but this setup, sheesh. i have figured it out, but its a bit over my head.
what i want is a turn-key modern setup. plug it in and it just works. want to look at jupiter - it just tracks its way and does it. i want to casually look at the moon, and take pictures of planets, and maybe maybe pictures of further beyond. im willing to coin up, and i think a larger unit would work if suggested so.
with my wants in mind and having the $ to do it, any suggestions on what to look at so i can start researching in the right spot?
thanks for the replies.
