Before video games became absolutely awful, I would read until I noticed my comprehension declining, take a break, and then get back to reading. It was an effective loop and I could tear through anything with really good retention. Lately though games are so horrible or so time consuming in their own right that they don't really even refresh me anymore. I'm finding myself taking a break from reading, by going off and reading... or in the absence of really having anything to split it up with, just trying to brute force my way through. I have meditation and the gym available as far as "low cognition" activities go, but how much can you REALLY do those? I'm just curious if anyone else has any good suggestions besides getting on adderall or something that boost my "cognitive stamina."
