>>11908854We are animals, Great Apes to be more precise, part of the Hominin taxonomical tribe, which is part of the Homininae subfamily, of the Hominidae family, so we are actually quite close to chimpanzees from an evolutionary perspective.
What makes us different is a higher level of intelligence that evolved from unique evolutionary advantages, as well as language, tool use, and technological transfer across generations (teaching). Some of the other animals also have several of these traits, but not all. We are the only ones who have sapience, as defined by having a more evolved theory of mind.
