I don't teach undergrads. None of my acquaintances do, either. Only theorists have to usually, and even then you can sometimes get away with just grading/having office hours.

not him but teaching is fucking shit because it's a whole other skill and has its own theory and practise distinct from your topic area that you then have to grasp. unless you've tried to do it you don't realise how hard it is to explain stuff even if you understand it. it takes hours of preparation before a lesson or tutorial and it's hours of your hardest thinking work not just moving your body around like most casual jobs
4 hours of tutoring maths will take more out of you than 10 hours of most work
