What are the types of tympanic perforations depending on the size of the hole? Recently, a relative of mine had an accident and the doctors told him that he had suffered from traumatic tympanic perforation with mild hearing loss, after conducting a PTA (said this was temporary). He was prescribed the usual amoxicillin/clavulnic acid along with a proton pump inhibitor and an anti-histamine. Also placed an ear patch endoscopic-ally. He tells me that it was about a 50% loss of membrane. I'd like to know what type of perforation would that be. I know it sounds like a personal question but I am genuinely interested in ENT related disorderes and procedures. For any other details, just ask.
