Like why should i trust the (supposed) data produced by one guy?
Only when someone else gets similar results is it unlikely that the data was just fabricated

The reproducability problem stems from the increased complexity and cost of many experiments these days.
If someone else has spent a fortune getting all the kit to do X and patented it there is no financial motive for anyone to spend a fortune reproducing it.
I would solve this by only allowing patents on products and not on procedures.
