If this is the first time you've encountered this, just remember it won't be the last. They do this ALL the time. In fact, the moment you hear a professor bring something like this up on their own, immediately log that as them meaning the opposite.

My pajeet professor included a fucking second derivative on the exam and never even lectured about the subject. I skipped over it in the book assuming it wasnt going to be on the exam and no hw problems related to it. Guess this dude wants me to read the book and entirely ignore his prerecorded lectures where he mostly works on trivial problems. Math professors are the worst and virtual math classes should be illegal. Fuck covid. Felt confident that I understand the subject for a second
