Is it the scientific consensus that there is no Free Will, in the most fundamental sense, as we cannot choose the thoughts and desires that arise in our mind (even if we can then decide whether to act or them or not - a kind of lower level free will)? And so that it’s all a dance of randomness (on a quantum level) and determinism (physical laws), but the idea of any kind of “freedom” is fundamentally meaningless?
