Brainle/tv/ here how realistic is this show scientifically? I am familiar with concepts like Schroedingers cat and some of the quantumn entanglement shit (Donnie darko etc) wormholes black holes but this series melted my brain seen the show multiple times

Nothing about Dark is realistic except for the weird comfy despair felt in small towns in Germany.
The most realistic sci fi show is probably the Expanse because it's the only sci fi show I know off where gravity exists.

The Expanse really impressed me with it's attention to actual physics/biology/chemistry. And the protomolecule was believable enough, at least up to the second last season. I had plans to write something extremely similar for a long time, but my lazy ass never got round to it and someone beat me there. I probably wouldn't have executed it as well, mind you.

I'm currently reading book 8 of the series. It still seems sort of grounded and realistic and very consistent in its fiction. And it's just so fucking comfy. I think I watched the show more for the world building than for the story. It's really well done and I can't take any other sci fi seriously anymore.

Yeah I agree, I find myself holding other scifi to that standard now. I can't even watch Star Wars any more, it just seems so haphazard and childish.

Idk why more attention is paid to these issues because they make sci fi so much more immersive. Star Wars is a good example. Same gravity on every planet and every single ship even if they're obviously under thrust from a different direction. Wat?

A good scifi miniseries to watch is Devs. Touches on De Broglie-Bohm pilot waves and many-worlds, asks some philosophical questions about the nature of sentience/causality through a credible scientific lens. Can be a little pretentious though, and I didn't like the main actress much.
