Is there really any difference between being bad at reading and dyslexia..?

I've never in my life hit a ball with a baseball bat. Does that mean I'm 'dyslectic' at playing baseball? Nope. It means I haven't practiced enough. But if I did a long and extensive medical investigation as to why I can't hit a ball with a baseball bat I'm sure that several motorskill deficiencies and timing issues would arise, making a perfectly understandable diagnosis which could be reproduced.

How long time does it take to learn to read? Multiple years. Kids can't read and write until they're like 8-10 (depending on the child). It takes a whole lot of hours of practice practice practice. So the kids who has too low motivation/too high adhd/too drugged up parents won't get these hours in, and they'll develop 'dyslexia', which in fact is nothing more than lack of practice. I say this since my brother is 'dyslectic', but in reality he's just lazy and haven't spent as much time practicing as I have, who share genetics but strangely isn't dyslectic.

I can guarantee that there's a very strong correlation between time spent practicing reading and writing and dyslexia.
