How did Heaviside do it? He didn’t know any analysis until well into his twenties and had no university education. He was an electrician and yet he was the most influential electrical engineer next to Tesla (who dropped out of college). I have yet to see any physics major or physicist who has the grasp that Heaviside did regarding electric circuits.
