It has been initially a subject of study during the cold war period, but soon abandoned when both sides started to reduce their arsenal.
Nowadays I know about some modern study about the subject that reevaluate the effects on climate as much worse than previously estimated even in case a regional conflict (e.g. India-pakistan).
