I did a double major in math and CS for a while and the difference was very strange. Both departments at my state school were fairly good, but not spectacular, yet the difference in attitude was night and day. A much larger percentage of the math students saw everyone else as "competition" and tried to be catty and such, whereas the computer science students (the ones who were in the subject because they were interested in it, that is), were mostly chill and were just happy to talk shop with other people.
