Is it possible to convey something like quicksort in purely mathematical terms?

Can I make a purely mathematical function that can accept four inputs x1, X2 and y1,y2 and have it solve for the the ordered mean of (X1,X2) and (y1,y2)?

Is computer science really just a way to describe mathematical calculations in complex sequences aka algorithms?
