It's a damn shame that nuclear is a fuckin spectacle. Pretty sure that even after every nuclear disaster humanity has had, it's still the safest and least impactful energy production we've got. Folk just don't think so, because it's bigger news than "Smog killed a bunch of people today in ways nobody would look twice at".
I guess spent fuel storage is an issue, but I don't see why we can't make spent fuel plants and keep boiling water with it. I'm sure we've got enough lying around to make it happen. Just need really fancy feedwater controls instead of reactor controls.
