Genuinely want to know if this is in the realm of or has been proven scientifically.

I find the following interesting:
Capitalism relies 100% on constant, limitless growth. It can’t even survive a 2 week slow down to adapt to the needs of human lives. Imagine thinking this could last forever.
Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell. ¬Edward Abbey
Ironically, cancer cells literally live forever if they are constantly provided nutrients.
