Yes. He was caught doing so much shady shit that even the famously pedo-friendly British government had to put their foot down. But they kept it quiet in a nod to his high birth (his family includes the Turing baronets), his wartime work (we actually don't know how important it was, as it's still classified), and his friends in high places (academia, military, intelligence). In the end they charged him with the relatively minor crime of buttfucking a 18-year-old rentboy at the age of 37.

The biggest giveaway is the unusualness of the charges. Look around for another case of an Englishman being chemically castrated for basic faggot shit. You won't find it. Turing is literally the ONLY ONE. Because his real crimes were covered up.

This. I'd just add two points:
1. Turing pleaded guilty. If he'd contested the charges, and there wasn't anything fishy going on, he would easily have won. Because, as you say, this punishment for that crime was completely unheard of.
2. Even today, the second most common pro-Turing argument is: "Oh come on, he was an important person. Why didn't they just... cover it up?"

You should read the post again, because you missed the point. What he's claiming is that the 18 year old is just the crime they chose to charge him with $\it after$ the cover up. Whether that's true or not is difficult to know, but his argument $\it is$ pretty interesting, unfortunately.
