How different is mathematics in uni from the stuff you learn in high school? I was considering finally going to college for it because i enjoyed it in school but i'm also somewhat intimidated.

Going to college for math? It’s 2020, just use the internet if you’re interested in learning it. Why would you need college to learn math?

I got an F in calculus in high school because I slept in the class a lot and never did homework or any studying. In general, high school math is fairly similar to college math in terms of whether or not one will like or excel at it.

The chances of making it as a self mathematician are basically zero. There are literally none in the entire history of mathematics. Plus you need formal education to become a research professor and actually get paid for it and do it as a living.

You could list Ramanujan as a counter example but he actually went to college and was expelled several times, the whole story of him learning from nothing but high school books is a myth.
