However i cant check the answer

No, i dont even know where you got the polynomial from
both sides of the equation simplify to linear equations, so you shouldn't have an x^2 term anywhere.

you multiplied wrong
2x - 6 (2x + 1) =/= (2x - 6) (2x + 1)

x - [3(2x +1)]/2 = 3x + 9 + 6 - 3x - (x/2)
(2x - 6x - 3)/2 = 15 - (x/2)
(-4x - 3)/2 = (30 - x)/2
-4x - 3 = 30 - x
-3x = 30 + 3
x = -(33/3) = -11
