Its purely theoretical and has hardly any practical purpose. It just serves as a thought experiment. But to answer your question it can theoretically run backwards due to time parity.

You're right, he came up with the thought experiment to highlight how its nonsensical in a classical scenario, but the success of QM means it's still useful as an analogy to explain weird quantum shit on a macro scale without having to make people do the math.

if you had outcome A while the electron is a particle and outcome B while the electron is a wave then according to the danish interpretation until interacted with the you should have both outcome B and A at the same time. this violates all fundamental laws so its wrong. death is fine demonstration of this and Schrodinger hated or liked cats

The fact that Schrodinger tried to use this analogy to illustrate the apparent "absurdity" of this is irrelevant - it is in fact what objectively happens, and you being uncomfortable with that because YOU believe it is contradictory is irrelevant and doesn't matter whatsoever.
