What's the best way to prepare for Calc 1? I want to go into the class knowing most of the material already.

Just know your high school stuff and come in fresh. At least you will learn it the right way

Get a good base on functions. Study linear and quadratic functions, then go on with exponential and logarithmic functions. Besides a good base in functions it's also important to know your trigonometric functions and properties, learn to re-write and re-express certain trigonometric properties and relations. The third fundamental thing beyond general algebra is being good at simplifying expressions, factoring therms and so on. With all this in you baggage Calc 1 should be really easy, quick and painless.
