Is bachelor degree in geology good choice?. I like to collect rocks and go on hikes . What are the job prospects for such a degree and what is the best masters to get after finishing bachelor's

You’ve got basically 2 options with a geology degree:

>study programming and GIS, find a job doing mapping in industry, it’s quite likely you’ll end up at an oil or gas firm but there are other industries reliant on GIS that pay decently

the only good bachelor degrees are electrical and mechanical engineering. if you love geology pursue it as a hobby. i really wish someone would have given me this advice before getting a degree in chemistry "cus i luv it". you get a degree to make money and thats it

In Australia oil and gas is less of an option. Most graduates end up working in hard rock mines (gold, copper, iron ore, etc) as 'mine geologists'. Mostly they manage drill rigs and log drill core in order to build 3D ore deposit models for the mining engineers.
