I cant figure out the right technique to solve this and it is driving me up the wall. If this is for /wsr/ ill fuck right off and self sage.
If two entities are given a number from one to a hundred, what is the average difference between these numbers if the position is assigned completely random? I figured that if a predicting figure was completely predictive the difference would always be 1, as no entity with a different predictive metric being either higher or lower would come in between the two. If I know that 1 is almost not random, and the total random number I hope to cobble together something that functions as an R2, a number that allows me to say to what extent the number can predict the relative ordering between entities.
