Are we losing our sketpticism as a(n American) society?

I kind of feel like we're losing our sketpticism. Hardly anyone here actually practiced it, but it feels like they're somehow doing it less. Especially when you have so many memes and individuals screeching that should BELIEVE whatever it is they want you to, but never provide substantial evidence to justify said belief.

Seriously, I swear everyone's descending into this more than they normally do.
