I don't think we'll reach biological immortality while I'm alive (currently 28) but there's no reason to think we'll never achieve it. In the last century we've discovered cellular senescence, telomeres, oxidative stress, methylation, many details of growth hormone pathways, and much more with respect to model organisms, known biologically immoral organisms, and even most recently fully artificial model organisms.
It isn't cope to think it'll happen eventually, it's only cope to think it'll happen in your generation.
