I hate every single fucking aspect of this process, from high level organization to the incredibly small detailed nitpicky word choices that literally no one but me cares about, not even my adviser will give a shit, but my crippling autism wants to have everything perfect. Oh and I am very well aware that, of the people who even happen to read parts of my paper, they will not even notice any of my efforts.
It must be because deep down I know my results are not groundbreaking or anything so my brain is trying to make up for it by having a paper that is nicer than the average in everything but substance.
I prefer collaborations so much more, you get other people to write their sections and you're not 100% happy with it but it's fine so you just correct some blatant typos and then leave it as is. No need to fuss over the entire paper and try to make every sentence perfect.
