I'm taking the bait, this shit pisses me off so much.
I'm assuming by minority students, they really are just meaning non-white people, and if so, then really nothing should be done other than giving the test normally and equally to all.
First, I doubt that every minority student was directly affected by the protests so why should they all reap the benefits of the black students protesting. In fact, 90% of BLM is made up of white and black people, with the proportion of black people barely edging out over white people according to this report (
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/287249414_Characterizing_the_Demographics_Behind_the_BlackLivesMatter_Movement), so why do white students have to take the exam when they're probably doing more than the other non-black minority students.
Second, seeing the timeline of the course, a student could have dropped out and made the choice to focus on either their personal politics or their academics, it's not like they didn't have time to choose as the majority of the protests have been in late May and all throughout June.
Third, it's fucking precalc, you can cram for a couple of days and learn everything, there's no reason to just take advantage of this so you don't have to take an exam ffs, at that point you're just co-opting the movement to try and justify your own personal laziness.
