>>11859975You are perfectly right, I do prefer those fields you mentioned, chemistry seems so empirical while I like to concentrate on fundamental and theoretical aspects. Of course I was exaggerating in my post, I understand why chemistry is important and everything, I just don't like it.
>>11861538I have already taken quantum mechanics, in my university we study it before chemistry. And we also have a course on structure of matter, where atoms, molecules, solids etc are explained in a more mathematical and rigorous way using wavefunctions, eigenvalues etc, so I kind of dislike the fact that I also have to worry about acids, bases, redoxes and all this shit I don't care about. I also don't want to be an engineer, I didn't plan on studying just mechanics, but also QM, general relativity, field theory etc. Also, engineers do chemistry where I live, and the mechanics they do is shit (they focus on rigid bodies, torques, friction etc while I like lagrangians, Poisson's parentheses, Noether's theorem and other things that we study at physics).
>>11861865Where did I say that I know anything about chemistry? I am just taking my first and (God be blessed) last course about it, which is required in my physics curriculum.
