A body in motion continues in a strait line unless some force is acted upon it.

Gravity is pulling on each infinitesimal part of the three dimensional disk equally and in the same direction: that is one force

While the movement of each infinitesimal three dimensional part of the disk is constrained by the disk itself: that is another force

while the disk is spinning: that is another force

So each infinitesimal three dimensional part of the disk's motion is affected by gravity and affected by the solidity of the disk, and affected by the disk spinning differently.

The resultant force of all those points is the disks motion.

I didn't look at the video but I'll bet i forgot one other force and that is the person holding the axis or axle of the spinning disk. So 4 forces on each infinitesimal three dimensional part of the disk...

weight is being distributed more evenly and you dont have to use as much energy to keep it stable
as well the rotational energy is allowing for movement to occur in incremental value in a certain direction due to it being easier to control the
rotational force then moving in that direction than it would be to abruptly shift the direction. though any time gravity is effecting the weight
more so in a direction down that would otherwise be made easier through the ease in handling a balance(from the spin) then a compensating force must be applied.
