>>11852147The problem with fusion isn't whether we can build machines that can do it, its whether we can build materials that can handle millions of degrees, constant heat cycles, high pressures and still maintain structural integrity. Without this the economic feasibility of it will make it obsolete, and largely already has. While I agree it isnt something we should give up on, you should realize that the materials needed to perform the above are so far beyond anything we have that the idea that you think these technologies will come to fruition in the next few decades is laughable at best. We have no idea if these kinds of materials are even possible, let alone how to manufacture them.
