Now you have to look like a math paper, so it has to be well written and follow the lingo of your area. Bad writing will sink you, but if it's good enough, the editor will help you out with that. Finally, if the results are original and hard enough, it stands a chance of making it through. A common line is "techniques look too elementary" which is code for "this is too easy." My friends have received that with their rejection letters. Others have received soft acceptance on the condition they rewrite the paper so that it reads better. If you get rejected, submit to worse and worse journals until you get in or decide your work is unworthy. Never submit to predators
