Gender roles are part of a greater evolutionary stable strategy that is obviously VERY successful since we went from anxiously roaming the savannah trying to avoid predators to ruling the entire planet and dying from old age.
There were very likely groups using different organizational structures than what goes as traditional gender roles today (which is by the way present in EVERY single major civilization btw) but they were either too weak to survive or got eliminated by stronger and more resilient ones. In short they got filtered.
The inherent problem with progressives is that they don't understand the nature of tradition, it's not some arbitrary stuff decided by one eons ago dude, it's the result of millenia of memes pitted against each others, it's as empiricist as possible.
Then progressive come and think they can reject all of that in one block and socially engineer based on megalomaniac idealism and that it will all work out dandy but in reality they're just weakening western civilization at the profit of other cultural groups who stick to their guns and will happily outbreed and subvert it. The saddest part is that they're not seeing the writing on the wall.
