Exercise helps breathing at night. People's tongue can get fat as well. There are tongue exercises that might can help. I personally have to sleep in a upright position or I can't breath well. I got one of those adjustable beach chairs from Walmart, and now I sleep on that on its highest incline. If you are not stubborn like me, you may want to get tested for sleep apnea. It's a serious condition that can lead to all sorts of health problems.
