This is just about the most retarded theory of history that exists on the market. Even on an individualism, the connection between living a hard life and having a good personality is extremely fucking questionable, but to use that questionable psychological basis to make a statement about an entire historical epoch requires a special type of retardation that's rarely seen even among teenagers.

The difference between bravery and stupidy can only be defined by a how succesful the outcome is.
e.g. quitting a good job to start your own business whilst having to support wife and children:
succesful business = 'wow pretty brave of you anon'
business fails = 'wow pretty stupid anon, you had a good job and and had a family to support'

I don't see how this couldn't be applied individually within an epoch. I could have harder times than you right now, even tho overall we're both in an age of ease.
But vs a Spartan in year 800bc? We're probably both shit. I would presume this is why we put our Marines and navy seals through the toughest training on the planet. Hopefully it creates the strongest men.
