Would science textbooks be a lot cheaper if ppl only went to university out of genuine interest in science, instead of normies flooding it with "muh piece of paper for muh high paying job"?

No, if anything they’d be more expensive as the same costs of writing and printing the textbooks would need to be paid by a smaller class of students.

Although, if this was accompanied by a major crunch in student lending price reduction might be achieved.

As others said, it'd probably be more expensive. Although not sure for the situation in America, everything education related has a super high price tag.

I belive most people that actually want to learn stuff just pirate the books. I can't even buy most educational books where I'm from, especially not in English, so pirating is really the only option.

Gotcha.
The solution is to not buy science textbooks, they're largely obsolete. The wheat is separated from the chaff by third year (cohorts for specific classes may thin down to 10-20 people or fewer) and it becomes a non-issue.
