How long are organs viable after the heart has stopped. I know each organ is unique. A complete list would be helpful. Thanks.

Once you are impossible to resuscitate, everything starts breaking down. So maybe right when the heart stops or something. I know of cases where people have been "dead" for 20 hours (no pulse), but came back. It's different for ever person (like a soul hanging on the body or something) , thats why they always try to resuscitate. In this case this person's organs would work in a transplant, during that time frame.

Ah, you took my answer then bud. All I can tell you is that for some organs it's quite a while, because they can harvest them after motorcycle wrecks and stuff. Putting them on ice helps to preserve them as well.
