All those doomsday sayers and merchants of despair never seem to take into account advances in technology and progress in general.
For example, the meat industry is supposedly a big factor in climate change, it's inhumane, it takes enormous resources to make a steak and you could just eat those resources directly, yada yada. What's the proposed solution? Lower consumption, taxes, guilt tripping.
Why not instead invest in synthetic meat production/gene editing and maybe achieve a breakthrough there?
The solutions to earth problems are found by progressing forward, not by regressing to a previous state.
