Is it bad for you? Does it negatively affect the learning process? Obviously it's bad if you have an exam tomorrow.

Depends on the homework. If you're reading a textbook and memorizing then you probably don't want to, but if you're doing math problems or programming or something it's fine although it'll probably slow you down a little

you only have one bottleneck available, don't confuse it.
Ear plugs or white noise are your best option for concentrating, definitely no spoken word at least not in a language yuou understand.

Depends completely on the type of work and the level of engagement required from the podcast. If you need your language centers for something else podcasts can make it almost impossible. If you need to distract your language centers and focus the rest of your brain on a singular task it can be a godsend.

I tried listening to a Lex Fridman podcast WHILE reading a textbook and it did not work out at all for me. I suggest just focusing on one task but I could be wrong. Maybe this skill can be improved.
