Can we have a thread not about IQ, but general intelligence?
I've always been very curious as to how exactly someone extremely intelligent/high iq sees the world vs someone low iq. Like when they look at an iq test problem, how do they break up each little part of the pattern so distinctively and precisely and so quickly? Or how do they learn and retain language information?
Only doing a little bit of research, it seems like there's a couple of ways the brain is utilized by more intelligent individuals. They are able to cut out "interference" from any crystalized intelligence, so when they look at something they can see patterns due to not looking at it with any preconceived notions. Secondly though, is after they see these new patterns they are then able to bounce them around all areas of their brain relating the pattern to things they've seen. From just reading on intelligent people talk about their thinking, a lot of this can happen "intuitively" without any effort to try to disassociate things as well as taking no effort for the brain to pass that info to all the other regions. Are these brains more efficient at accessing all their "storage areas" because they utilize them so often to make connections?
Any books I can read on this subject of learning/thinking power?
