"80s" is also an aesthetic prevalent in technology, music and clothing. Using any of the associated imagery and symbolism does not at all imply that you want to go back to the 80s and that you think everything was better then.
Same with satanic imagery. It's fantasy and more often than not a metaphor for self-fulfilment. It does not imply at all that you want to ritually murder people. Take a look at all people that use Satanic imagery in their daily life and compare that to the number of people out of those that actually perform ritual murder.
Yes, you could say the same thing about someone using the Swastika aesthetically. However, people actually did and do get murdered in the name of the Swastika (I am aware it's also a symbol for the sun in other cultures). The stigma coming along with the Swastik makes it very unlikely someone would dress up as an SS officer just because he likes the aesthetic (it does look snappy).
Millions of people are also able to wear a cross and going to church, without being Christians.
