Serious question

If a person could travel back in time and they killed their own father before they were conceived what would actually happen?
Would the universe blow up or something?

You are person from universe 1.
You traveled back in time
You killed your grandfather your family won't exist
You, however, would remain as a remnant of the universe/timeline that no longer exist.

The universe would continue as a universe 2 (in your perspective)

Depends. If you time travelled, did you destroy/erase your original time/universe when you time traveled? Did you jump to ANOTHER universe? In which case both universe exists simultaneously. Any change you do to the new universe won't affect your old universe. Or 3 in act of "time travel" paradox annihilates you/everything.

In short:

Is there 1 universe? 2 universe? 0 universe?

not op but besides this, considering it didn't, how would the universe behave if there were a few extra particles coming out of nowhere? would the atoms that make up one's material behave like?wouldn't overlapping or even close atoms like, collapse the universe?

No one knows. If its some stray particle, that aren't already entangled with the rest of the universe, how would it be perceived by the people of the universe? Would you be invisible? Would your body look like its all over the place due to random entanglement?
