>>11827547Adding to this, it pretty much depends on what exactly are you doing. If you are writing a 2D game, this anon is right. But if you are writing a 3D game (and writing the engine yourself), buckle up because you are going to need to be really familiar with your linear algebra. As a general recommendation, master arithmetics, learn trigonometry, learn calculus and get familiar with linear algebra (including quaternions and eigenvectors) and you'll be good to go.
Don't be scared by math, learning about the math behind everything and implementing it is fun. If you really feel you don't get the math, then I recommend you forget about it, maybe find yourself another hobby. Also I recommend you write your own engine, at least for the first few memegames you make, just so you get familiar with concepts of game engine architecture, graphics programming, game design and etc, having this knowledge WILL be helpful even if all you are planning to do is shitty unity shovelware. Whenever shit goes down the drain (which is common with modern engines like Unity and UE4), and you start having problems with not being able to implement things the way you want or you start feeling limited by your tools, then this knowledge will be useful to modify the engine to adapt to your use case.
The path is not easy but it is definitely rewarding. Even if your shovelware doesn't sell, the knowledge remains.
