That way we'd have one scale and it would be the most sensitive in a range most sensitive to humans
We can tell the difference between -40C, -10C, 0C, 10C, 20C, 35C, 50C etc. but we can't really tell the difference between -100C and -200C or 500C and 2000C, so that's where the less drastic changes are taking place
