What are some good books about the history of programming between the 1960s - 1990s. Particularly I am interested in the development of Assembly and then the transition to C and then C++ and why that happened. As well as about the general history of the computer science world in that time.

Also interested in the history of Cypherpunks and privacy activism in the early days of the Internet.
