>>11818391In general, strength is about creating microtears in your muscle fibers, promoting myocyte growth and proliferation. cardio is also general is about promoting the creation of mitochondria to increase oxygen efficiency.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMC6tWwA7U8If muscular hypertrophy is your goal you're not going to get anywhere without weights. Consider the training efficiency of a 80kg man doing bodyweight squats, producing under 80kg of resistance (its not the full 80kg because he's not pushing it all away from the ground) compared to if he was doing 80kg barbell squats. That's 1.5-2x increase in efficiency.
You'll definitely get stronger by doing bodyweight exercises but you'll need to do A LOT with variety to target all those different muscle groups (biceps, triceps, abdominals, etc.). Weighted exercises are usually compound exercises, targeting multiple groups at once.

>>11818409 right, doing 2 reps at a time is fucking useless and tantamount to a shit form of endurance training. At least 20 pushups a set if you want strength.
