I'm doing some research for a short story and I want to ask the local psychologyfags: is there a specific name for when people develop a correlation between abuse (mostly emotional) and affection, that isn't just a masochistic fetish? Like somebody growing with an occasionally emotionally abusive parents (intentional or not) that they still loved and then becoming attracted to emotionally abusive people in their adulthood? Or anything similar?
